Iceni Rally 2017
(Saturday 23rd September)

Iron Butt UK organises three rallies during the year. The 12 hour Brit Butt Light, held in the summer and the 36 hour Brit Butt Rally in the spring. This is the third running of this 8 hour event in the autumn, nicely bridging the gap between the other two. We see this as an opportunity to provide riders with a gentle introduction into our sport.

To provide novice long distance riders a taste of IBA rallying in a relatively quiet area of the country, prior to entering the Brit Butt Rally or certificated rides. Veteran riders can use it as another opportunity to hone their skills without riding the same distances encountered in multi-day rallies.

The Rally HQ will be the Histon Royal British Legion Club, outside Cambridge (A14, Junction 32). This is a central location for the riding area which will consist of the East Anglian counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Cambridgeshire. There is a new Travelodge hotel with restaurant and bar facilities nearby so this would give the option to stay overnight before/after the rally should riders wish to.

Dates & Times

The rally will begin at 09.00hrs on Saturday 23rd September 2017. It is an 8 hour event so riders must return by 17.00hrs to be classed as a finisher. Registration is available on both Friday evening and Saturday morning up to 08.30hrs. This will be followed by a short rider briefing. Detailed information will however be sent out by email after applications are received, and updated prior to the event as required.

Bonus Locations & Rally book

The rally book giving details of the bonus locations will be emailed direct to entrants 8 days before the rally (on Friday 15th). This will allow riders to spend several days ensuring their data is correct and finalising a route plan in the comfort of their own homes. There will be 40 possible bonus locations, spread across the above mentioned counties. These will have differing points values depending on their distance & difficulty etc.

Entry from 1st June 2017 via electronic form. The cost of entry is £20 per bike, this will be via PayPal. A percentage will be given to the Royal British Legion.
